News Running Track - Herculan Sports

Herculan Synthetic Track set for the XII Ibero American games.

The running track at the Estadio Tierra de Campeones stadium in Iquique, North Chile has been installed. Mr. low and his team have done a fantastic job constructing this track and getting it ready for the XIII Ibero American Games (Juegos Iberoamericanos de Atletismo) that will be held from June 12 to 15, 2008. This is the first ever Herculan synthetic track that has been laid down with an IAAF Class 2 Certificate that qualifies the Herculan track to match the international standards.

The running track is equipped with 8 lanes and all areas for field events. With a total surface area of approximately 7,200 sq. m, the Herculan SR Sprint is considered to be a top product for international competition certified by the IAAF.

After building three tracks in Chile last year, two more tracks with an IAAF Class 2 Certificate are also in the pipeline. One in Antalya, Turkey, that is ready and awaiting the IAAF Survey, and the other in Urfa, Turkey, that is still under construction. The construction of both these tracks is being taken care of by our Turkish partner, Ketu Insaat ve Tic., Ankara.

Herculan entices a new milestone on the running track.

The installation of the running track at stadium Estadio Tierra de Campeones in Iquique, North Chile started a few days ago. Our installation team, with Mr. Low as the team leader, is constructing this track for the XIII Ibero American Games (Juegos Iberoamericanos de Atletismo), to be held from June 12 to15, 2008. This will be the first major track and field competition held on a Herculan synthetic track ever. Therefore this track will be classified with an IAAF Class 2 Certificate.

At the Ibero American Games, the participating athletes are from all the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries of Europe, North and South America. More than 600 athletes from different countries will participate at the games this year. The previous games have been held in cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Ciudad de Mexico, Havana etc. indicating the importance of this competition.

The running track will have 8 lanes and all areas for field events with a total surface area of approx 7.200 sq.m. It will be finished in blue colour and will be a Herculan SR Sprint system -considered to be a top product for international competition certified by IAAF. The installation of the running track will be complete by the middle of March 2008.

Together with our local partner G.Y.D. Promociones from Santiago de Chile, we have already installed three running tracks in Chile last year. Stadium Estadio regional de Aysen in Coyhaique, Stadium Municipal in Valdivia and Stadium Estadio Regional Chiledeportes in Valparaiso. The next project in Concepcion is already contracted.
